Oaxaca

The family rented a tour bus and we drove five hours south to Oaxaca to see the ruins at Mitla and Monte Alban. Above is Mitla, a much smaller set of ruins but one with zero security and access inside most of the buildings and tombs.

The next day we took the most dangerous bus trip of my life on tiny dirt roads up a mountain side to avoid paying extra to get to Monte Alban. Having an insane bus driver paid off.

They pretty much only use glass bottles here and since they're refillable you're not allowed to take them with you. Restaurants and markets are overflowing with stacks of them. They don't even use high fructose corn syrup because cane sugar is a huge crop there. How exciting!
